About the Program

Carlotta Walls was fourteen years old and Terrence Roberts fifteen years old when they stood on the stairs of Little Rock Central High School on September 25, 1957.  The two members of the 'Little Rock Nine' recall their participation in the integration of the Arkansas high school and the years that followed. This event was hosted by the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Carlotta Walls LaNier

Carlotta Walls LaNier was the youngest member of the 'Little Rock Nine.'  She is the recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal and two honorary doctorate degrees.  Ms. LaNier is the founder and owner of the real estate brokerage firm, LaNier and Company.

Terrence Roberts

Terrence Roberts was the recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal in 1999.  He currently owns and directs a management consulting firm in California.
