Journalist Alexander Cockburn was our guest for In Depth on Sunday April 1, 2007 . Mr. Cockburn was a columnist for The Nation and co-editor of CounterPunch, a political newsletter (on the web at His work appeared in many publications, including the Wall Street Journal, where he had a regular column from 1980 to 1990. Mr. Cockburn authored or edited over a dozen books, including "Corruptions of Empire," "The Golden Age Is In Us," "Washington Babylon," "Whiteout: The CIA, Drugs and the Press," "Imperial Crusades," "The Politics of Anti-Semitism," and "A Dime's Worth of Difference." His latest, written with CounterPunch co-editor Jeffrey St. Clair, was "End Times: The Death of the Fourth Estate." Alexander Cockburn died on July 22, 2012.
