The Harding Affair: Love and Espionage During the Great War

James David Robenalt

About the Program

James David Robenalt recounts the political and personal life of President Warren Harding.  Mr. Robenalt provides new insight on the former president through previously unpublished love letters and journal entries.  The correspondence consisted of eight hundred pages over thirteen year between President Harding and Carrie Phillips,  a woman  who would be investigated by the U.S. government for her friendship with purported German spies.  This event was hosted by Joseph Beth Booksellers in Cleveland.
