About the Program

Henry Arnold and Ben Pearson talk about the capture and detention of 24 aid workers from Shelter Now International (8 Westerners and their 16 Afghan co-workers) in Afghanistan just prior to 9/11.  Arnold and Pearson describe what the Western workers went through before they were released and the harsher treatment received by their Afghan counterparts.  This discussion was part of the Southern Festival of Books held annually in Nashville.
