Amy Reading

About the Program

Amy Reading presents a history of economic cons in the United States and specifically recounts the confidence game that left Texas rancher J. Frank Norfleet penniless in 1919.  The author relays that upon realizing he had been taken in a stock market con, Mr. Norfleet left his home armed and in possession of several disguises to seek revenge on the men who swindled him out of his fortune.  Amy Reading speaks at The Elliott Bay Book Company in Seattle.
